The Children’s Centre Non Profit Society of Fort McMurray

The Children’s Centre was established as a Non Profit Society on March 03, 1992, when gaps in existing services for children 0 to 5 years of age and their families, were identified within our community. Since then, we have remained committed to providing family support services that nurture growth, resilience, and connection.

We are proud to serve a wide range of families including single parents, Families facing financial challenges, indigenous families and newcomers to Canada. Our inclusive model ensures that every family feels welcomed, respected, and supported, regardless of their unique circumstances or challenges.

Our programming follows a continuum of care, beginning with prenatal support to help expectant parents prepare for their child’s arrival. From there we continue to walk alongside families through our postnatal programs, parent toddler groups and into preschool, creating a seamless pathway of growth and learning during a child’s early years. Each stage of programming is designed to encourage parental involvement, foster healthy child development and strengthen family bonds.

Through the dedication of our staff, partnership with the community, and the ongoing support of funders and grants, The Children’s Centre continues to be a vital resource for families- helping to lay a strong foundation for the next generation.
